Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainable Design Specialist to join our team at Contechs, a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology & Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Colour and Materials Designer to contribute to designing and developing sustainable and responsible colour and materials content within the Materiality organisation. The successful candidate will be part of a world-class design team delivering the clients' societal impact and working towards net zero carbon emissions across our supply chain, products, and operations by 2039.

Key Responsibilities
  • To be part of a team that creates and realises innovative proof of concepts and material solutions for both interior and exterior applications from Concept through to Job 1 and beyond.
  • Responsible for contributing to designing and developing sustainable and responsible colour and materials content within the Materiality organisation.
  • Assist in researching trends, landscape shifts, analogous industry, and new ideas for next-generation vehicles and create vehicle line material strategies for future implementation.
  • Research and development activities for new colours and materials, creating inspiring Materiality concepts and realising concepts through creation of digital and physical assets and prototyping ideas.
  • Support in the design, development, and implementation of colour and material design proposals feeding into Materiality strategies, concept cars, vision properties.
Requirements
  • Degree level qualification in Textile, Fashion, Graphics, Product, Automotive design or similar.
  • Experience as a designer with proven experience or examples in portfolio of colour and material design application.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop or Illustrator or Indesign.
  • A good understanding of automotive design and delivery processes.
Benefits

The salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including a contractor care team to support all external employees. If you know anyone who is suitable for the role, we offer up to £600 referral fee.
