Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our Works Delivery team in the NW&C route reactive works within the rail industry. This senior leadership role involves overseeing the delivery of work bank, focusing on Health, Safety, Quality, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Management
    • Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
    • Propose actions in response to changing needs and expectations
    • Manage key stakeholders throughout projects
  • Project Delivery
    • Supervise a team of skilled supervisors and operatives
    • Ensure implementation of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) controls
    • Monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and maintain quality standards
    • Support team on high-priority works
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Attend meetings, maintain notes, and report progress to stakeholders
    • Produce and monitor project milestones, escalate issues when necessary
    • Maintain project data system for client access
  • Risk Management
    • Ensure project progresses without risk, carry out monthly risk reviews
    • Identify nonconformances and implement corrective action
    • Manage safety, quality, and environmental issues
  • Team Management
    • Manage and develop work staff, ensure competency
    • Lead and manage subcontractors and in-house teams
    • Act as a role model for the wider team
  • Commercial Management
    • Support commercial teams in meeting external requirements
    • Update project programmes, support forecasting and performance
    • Assist in quotations, approvals, and signing of invoices
    Requirements
    • Industry-related qualification, CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid certification
    • CDM Awareness, Driving license
    Desirable Qualifications
    • Degree in construction, personal track safety, mandatory Sisk Rail Training
