Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Coordinator to join our team at Cotech Building Careers. As a Technical Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the management and coordination of external consultant teams throughout all stages of project procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning
    • Clearance of planning conditions and S106 planning obligations
    • Preparation and submission of S73/S96a applications for technical design changes
    • Preparation and submission of formal amendments and non-material variations to planning applications
  • Detailed Design
    • Preparation of design tenders and review of submitted tenders
    • Appointment of consultant teams in accordance with the Operating Framework
    • Preparation and maintenance of detailed design programmes
    • Preparation of comprehensive working drawing packages for tender and construction
    • Organisation and leadership of design team meetings
    • Preparation and submission of Building Regulations Approvals
    • Clearance of Building Regulation conditions
    • Maintenance of good understanding of environmental/ecological constraints
    • Undertake detailed assessment and approval of supporting suppliers and manufacturer's information
    • Obtain all assessments and ensure compliance with HQI, Lifetime Homes, Building for Life, DQS etc.
    • Review and comment on technical content of sales literature
    • Maintenance of records of design changes/value engineering
    • Review and comment on tender queries
    • Ensure CDM/EMS processes are followed and recorded
    • Secure S278, S38, S104, S106, S185 agreements as necessary
    • Maintenance of fee trackers and preparation of cost movement reports
  • Site Support & Supervision
    • Ensure CDM/EMS site start processes and site close out procedures are followed and recorded
    • Promptly resolve site queries in close conjunction with the project team
    • Support the site sales team to ensure accuracy of sale information
  • General
    • Prepare for, attend, and participate in all necessary key meetings
    • Attend site as necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role
    Requirements
    • Knowledge of the full development/technical process
    • Previous experience as either an Assistant Technical Coordinator or Technical Coordinator within a development organisation preferred
    • Industry related qualification
    • Attained or working towards a professional accreditation with RICS, CIOB, ICE, RIBA
    • Ability to work within tight deadlines and to programme accurately
    • Ability to work under own initiative
    • Excellent communication skills and team work
    • Ability to manage external consultant team and ensure all deadlines are met
