Manufacturing Equipment Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join our team at Leonardo in Edinburgh. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and supporting the operations equipment and equipment processes to enable world-class production of Leonardo products.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Continuously improve manufacturing equipment processes to reduce costs and timescales.
  2. Participate in OEE (Overall Operational Equipment Effectiveness) data analysis to optimize equipment utilization.
  3. Maintain and calibrate manufacturing equipment, conducting TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) to schedule.
  4. Interface with the Calibration Services provider to support calibration and repair requirements of manufacturing and test equipment and tooling.
  5. Assist in maintaining spares for maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities.
  6. Resolve routine manufacturing equipment issues and constraints on the shop floor, reacting efficiently to escalation from manufacturing teams.
  7. Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing EPA/ESD arrangements to ensure successful ESD processes are in place.
  8. Maintain manufacturing equipment documentation, including maintenance schedules and process checklists.
  9. Maintain critical spares and proactively review/oversight of obsolescence.
  10. Support the maintenance of manufacturing support facilities and services to ensure successful manufacture/test of products.
  11. Assist and support Manufacturing Engineering in preparing Manufacturing Maturity Reviews.
  12. Participate in Equipment Criticality Assessment/Risk Assessment processes.
  13. Support internal and external audits of Manufacturing, Test Equipment, and Calibration processes.
  14. May supervise an Industrial Placement or Summer Student.
Requirements:
  1. Good practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  2. Data analysis skills.
  3. Demonstrated achievement of own tasks within equipment engineering discipline.
  4. Awareness of related engineering disciplines and levels of interaction required within an IPT.
  5. Experience of measurement techniques and the use of equipment, such as temperature, humidity, dew point, pressure, vacuum, airborne particles, and vibration, relevant to manufacturing facilities.
  6. Experience of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and supporting services, including Clean Rooms, Special to Type Test Rooms, Environmental Facilities & Chambers.
