Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Equipment Specialist to join our team at Leonardo in Edinburgh. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and supporting the operations equipment and equipment processes to enable world-class production of Leonardo products.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Improve manufacturing equipment processes to reduce costs and timescales.
  2. Participate in uptime/utilization data analysis for Overall Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  3. Maintain and calibrate manufacturing equipment, conducting TPM to schedule.
  4. Interface with the Calibration Services provider to support calibration and repair requirements of manufacturing and test equipment.
  5. Assist in keeping spares aimed at maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities.
  6. Resolve routine manufacturing equipment issues and constraints on the shop floor.
  7. Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing EPA/ESD arrangements.
  8. Maintain manufacturing equipment documentation set, e.g., maintenance schedule and process checklist.
  9. Maintain manufacturing equipment critical spares and oversee obsolescence.
  10. Support the maintenance of manufacturing support facilities and services.
  11. Support Manufacturing Engineering in preparation of Manufacturing Maturity Reviews.
  12. Participate in Equipment Criticality Assessment/Risk Assessment processes.
  13. Support internal and external audits of Manufacturing, Test Equipment, and Calibration processes.
  14. May supervise an Industrial Placement or Summer Student.
Requirements:
  1. Good practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  2. Data analysis skills.
  3. Demonstrated achievement of own tasks within equipment engineering discipline.
  4. Awareness of related engineering disciplines and levels of interaction required within an IPT.
  5. Experience of measurement techniques and the use of equipment relevant to manufacturing facilities.
  6. Experience of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and supporting services, including Clean Rooms and Environmental Facilities.
