Project Overview

The University of Nottingham is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to contribute to the development of sustainable rechargeable batteries. The primary focus will be on designing and developing manganese-based rechargeable zinc-air battery cells with enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct experiments to optimize the structure-function relationships of manganese-based electrodes.
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and evaluate innovative strategies for enhancing rechargeable zinc-air battery development.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences.
Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for a bright and highly motivated individual with a first-class or 2.1 honours degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a relevant discipline. The candidate should have good communication skills, be self-motivated, and have an interest in applied scientific research.
