Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team on the Global Combat Air System Programme (GCAP). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced software solutions for the next-generation fighter aircraft, Tempest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software solutions for complex systems, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless system operation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve software quality and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and strategies for software engineering.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software development, with a strong background in C++ and/or Java.
  • Excellent understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and development methodologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of software testing and validation techniques, with a focus on ensuring high-quality software delivery.
