Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team on the Global Combat Air System Programme (GCAP). As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced software solutions for the next-generation fighter aircraft, Tempest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software solutions for complex systems, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless system operation.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve software quality and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications, requirements, and design documents.
  • Work closely with the project team to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely delivery of software solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software development, with a strong background in C++ or similar programming languages.
  • Excellent understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
