We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our team in providing a comprehensive 24/7 Blood Transfusion service for University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Blood Transfusion, managing a skilled team of senior and advanced Biomedical scientists and support staff. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality blood transfusion services to UCLH
  • Supporting haemoglobinopathy services, TTP referral, Haematology-oncology, and foetal medicine
  • Liaising with NHSBT reference laboratories and clinicians for specialist investigations

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Registration with HCPC as Biomedical Scientist
  • MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent
  • Participation in a relevant CPD Scheme (e.g. IBMS)

Our laboratory processes on average 85,000 group and screens per annum. You will be expected to maintain accurate records, adhere to GMP principles, and ensure timely reporting of manual work results.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will benefit from discounted gym membership, cash healthcare plan, sick pay entitlement, and other perks.
