Job Title: Finance Business Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at The National Archives. As a key member of our management accounting team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and advising stakeholders on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sound financial advice and management to Directorates, including reviewing business cases and financial implications.
  • Present financial information to Senior Management Teams and communicate complex financial issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a full understanding of the policies and cost drivers of Directorates' spend to ensure effective management and monitoring.
  • Lead on month-end and year-end activities, ensuring accurate and correct management information.
  • Challenging and supporting Directors and Budget Managers in managing spend on a portfolio basis.
  • Lead on financial planning and forecasting exercises, supporting and providing constructive challenge to business areas.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the business and in other support functions to understand their needs and priorities.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified Accountant with significant experience in communicating complex financial issues.
  • Significant experience of leading on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Extensive experience of maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Demonstrable experience of reviewing business cases and/or investment appraisal.
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Understanding of accounting policy and appreciation of the implications for an organisation of Government legislation and accounting standards.
