Job Description

This is a fixed-term Postdoctoral Research Associate position available in the group of Professor Paula Booth. The research will focus on the folding and biogenesis of integral membrane proteins as part of a long-term multi-disciplinary project investigating the co-translational folding of membrane proteins using innovative approaches across biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology and chemistry.

Essential Criteria
  1. PhD qualified in a relevant subject area (or pending results) - this includes a PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related disciplines.
  2. Relevant practical research experience with one or more of the following: proteins / folding / biochemical / biophysical methods, laboratory skills & ability to use/manage lab instrumentation.
  3. Strong track record in biophysics, biochemistry, membrane proteins or field related to project, according to experience.
  4. Experience in experiment design, scientific presentations and publication preparation.
  5. Experience with mutational analyses, labelling or unnatural amino acid incorporation into proteins.
  6. Experience with data analysis and programming.

The salary for this position is £40,764 - £53,134 per annum, depending on experience.
