About the Role

The Pensions Ombudsman is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Adjudication team. As Head of Adjudication, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the team that investigates and adjudicates complaints within our jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vision and direction to drive the sustainable performance of the Adjudication team.
  • Monitor workloads and capacity across the section, ensuring that we meet our objectives and those of The Pensions Ombudsman.
  • Work with team managers and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Casework) to share coordinated reports about performance, targets, and deadlines.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to enable the section to meet its objectives and those of The Pensions Ombudsman.
  • Provide ongoing creative thinking around the development and improvement of the Adjudication section.
  • Manage individual performance and development for direct reports and monitor performance and development of all staff in the section.
  • Provide accurate and timely management reporting for the area of responsibility at relevant forums across The Pensions Ombudsman.
  • Work with senior managers and staff across The Pensions Ombudsman to improve insight and information sharing.
