Credit Expertise Director

We are seeking an experienced Credit Expertise Director to lead our credit analysis team in the EMEA region.

The successful candidate will assume primary responsibility for ratings and research within the EMEA insurance sector. This role encompasses direct oversight of approximately 8 senior analysts located in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Dubai, who are supported by rating associates. The successful candidate will also contribute to Moody's Ratings' strategic initiatives in Insurance and Private Credit within the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a credit strategy that aligns with Moody's Ratings' goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of seasoned analysts and deliver on FIG's strategic priorities, ensuring insightful credit analysis, accurate ratings, and timely management of active deal flows.
  • Oversee credit analysis of the assigned credit portfolio, addressing credit issues consistently and promptly.
  • Spearhead initiatives to improve rating quality, operational efficiency, and enhance credit research and outreach.
  • Support Moody's Ratings' strategic initiatives in Private Credit.
  • Contribute to Moody's Ratings' transformation initiatives and assume a leadership role in specified workstreams. Undertake and support ad hoc projects to advance the franchise and support global and regional management priorities.
  • Develop and execute a talent plan. Provide mentoring and coaching for best practices for professional excellence.
  • Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and ensure appropriate team attendance to and engagement in DE&I events and discussions.

The ideal candidate has a strong academic background equivalent to at least an MSc, CFA, or similar in relevant areas. They should have excellent writing skills, extensive public speaking experience, and considerable experience as a people manager, motivator, and mentor, ideally within a team of credit professionals.

Requirements:
  • Credit Expertise: Exceptional credit skills, specifically within the insurance sector, and deep connections within the investor community.
  • Relationship Management: Proven track record of reinforcing existing relationships at all levels and effectively representing the Moody's brand.
  • Talent Leadership: Considerable experience as a people manager, motivator, and mentor, ideally within a team of credit professionals.
  • Education: Strong academic background equivalent to at least an MSc, CFA, or similar in relevant areas is required.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is crucial. Proficiency in additional European languages would be beneficial.
  • Inclusive Mindset: Openness towards diverse cultures and willingness to travel across the EMEA region.

The estimated salary for this position is €140,000 - €170,000 per annum, depending on experience.
