About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arts Therapist to join our Community Arts Psychotherapies team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for complex trauma and psychosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex trauma and psychosis.
  • Deliver evidence-based arts psychotherapies, including individual and group work, to patients with a range of diagnoses.
  • Develop and facilitate mentalization-based group and individual art psychotherapy for service users who have been assessed within the CEN pathway.
  • Supervise students and provide clinical supervision to junior staff members.
  • Contribute to research and audit initiatives within the Trust, including the development of new research projects and the dissemination of findings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A good honours degree in Art, Music, Drama, or Dance, or equivalent performing experience.
  • MA/MSc in one of the Arts Therapies/Psychotherapies.
  • State Registration with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Relevant specialist training or qualifications.
  • Significant experience of autonomous working with Personality Disorder and Psychosis, both in groups and individually.
  • Training in MBT and experience of delivering MBT interventions for complex trauma.
  • Experience of working with people with disturbed and challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of supervising arts therapists/psychotherapists and of liaison with the university training courses.
