Job Summary:

The Shift Controller is a critical role within the OCS Group, responsible for ensuring seamless airport operations and exceptional customer experiences. As a Shift Controller, you will be the face of our service, interacting with passengers, airport personnel, and colleagues to provide top-notch assistance and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet passengers in a professional and courteous manner, assess their mobility requirements, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Task Management: Log and record passenger tasks into the Avtech Connect system, allocate tasks to Customer Care Agents (CCAs), and ensure timely completion.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with passengers, airport personnel, and colleagues, using a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Team Leadership: Monitor uniform standards, behavior, and performance of CCAs, and report any discrepancies to the Duty Manager.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure the efficient and accurate updates of the Avtech Connect System, monitor performance levels of CCAs, and communicate effectively with the Control Department.
  • Service Excellence: Pre-empt and report potential service failures, ensure a full complement of wheelchairs are stocked, and maintain a tidy and well-organized workspace.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with persons at all levels, including those with disabilities.
  • Disability Confidence: A disability confident approach when assisting passengers with reduced mobility.
  • Adaptability: Self-motivated, adaptable to change, and able to use own initiative.
  • Time Management: Good timekeeper and willing to maintain a high level of grooming.
  • Teamwork: Committed, respectful, and enthusiastic, with a caring, thoughtful, and empathetic personality.
  • Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work and multitask within a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work Experience: Five-year checkable work record, with previous airport experience an advantage but not essential.
