**Job Description:** Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer Lead

**Location:** Barrow-in-Furness, UK (Hybrid)

**Salary:** £65,000 - £85,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer Lead to join our Active Vehicle Control team. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for compiling equipment specification and analysis, developing parts, systems, and test systems, and providing evidence of fitness for purpose.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C&I systems design and demonstrable career experience with these systems. You will work closely with the team to develop and implement innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Compiling equipment specification and analysis
  • Developing parts, systems, and test systems
  • Determining and maturing C&I requirements
  • Integrating systems containing electronic, mechanical, and software sub-systems

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

Essential:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant STEM subject (Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science)
  • Chartered engineer or working towards this level
  • Knowledge of Defence Standards and Industry standards

Desirable:

  • Awareness of IEC 61508 / 61511, ARP 4754, DO-178C / DO-254 standards
