We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tutor to join our team at Selwyn Hall School. As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management within our school.
You will work closely with members of the Education team to support pupils' personal and academic development by removing barriers to their learning. Your role will involve promoting positive learning behaviour with pupils, leading a class to give teaching staff PPA or ECT time out of class, and supporting in lessons with academic understanding or pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
You will also be responsible for leading a number of lessons as directed by the timetable each week, responding to immediate pupil concerns, and working within the school's Inclusion provision. Additionally, you will deliver lessons when required, create and collate information relating to lessons taught, and assist in the preparation of information relevant to meetings about pupils.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving pupil outcomes and is committed to professional development and willing to learn. You will be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school, such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.

Requirements- Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as Teaching Assistant.
- Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
- Be experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school.
- Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
- Committed to professional development and willing to learn.
- Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
