Job Overview

Mitie seeks a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join their national account team. This site-based role involves collaborating with management to ensure all operations are carried out safely, sustainably, and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks for Mitie companies and clients.
  • Lead a small QHSE team of functionally skilled colleagues, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice, and share expertise with the team.
  • Support managers in developing effective safe working practices, identify formal training needs, and conduct assessments outside their competence.

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of ISO and relevant QHSE standards applicable to the businesses.
  • Detailed knowledge of risk assessment and management, experience of coaching and mentoring others within a business environment.
  • Able to represent the line manager as required, good written English skills, and computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
