About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Operations Specialist to join our team at Trant Engineering Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Health & Safety Advisors within the business and will report directly to the Head of SHEQ & Training.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Operations Specialist will assist operational teams and supply chain partners in ensuring safety standards are upheld. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing a Safety Culture: Monitor and drive our continuous improvement strategy programme to promote a positive safety culture.
  2. Providing HSE Advice: Offer accurate, current advice for minimising and avoiding risks associated with day-to-day work.
  3. Supporting Contracts: Ensure adherence to company/client requirements, regulatory standards, and current legislation.
  4. Planning and Implementing Safety Measures: Plan, implement, monitor, and review protective and preventative safety measures while working with all stakeholders.
  5. Liaising with Clients: Engage with clients on performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.
  6. Undertaking Inspections and Audits: Conduct inspections/audits of operational sites to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and contract processes.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate with construction experience.
  • Experience in CDM Environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH as a minimum).
  • Appreciation of Health & Safety Legislation.
  • IT Literacy with experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, and the internet.
  • Strong Communication Skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to Identify Opportunities for Improvement and influence change.
  • Certification in IOSH or Working Towards.
