Job Title: Alternative Education Tutor

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Alternative Education Tutor to join our team at SENDirect. As an Alternative Education Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored learning programs to students who require alternative education pathways.

About the Role:

This full-time position offers a temporary to permanent contract and is ideal for someone committed to helping students who require additional support outside mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to the specific needs of students in an alternative provision setting.
  • Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure students are fully supported in their educational journey.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a tutoring or teaching role in alternative education is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in alternative provision settings.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
