In this SEMH Teaching Assistant role, you will be responsible for providing support to young people aged 8-16 with SEMH needs, ASD, or Challenging Behaviour. Our ideal candidate will work closely with the class teacher to ensure every child receives the necessary support to succeed.

The successful candidate will be available to work Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and is expected to commit to a long-term position in Bristol. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible and has experience working with children and young adults, particularly those with additional needs.

  1. Responsibilities:
  • Providing individualised support to children with SEMH needs, ASD, or Challenging Behaviour.
  • Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery.
  • Developing engaging learning activities that cater to diverse needs.
  • Fostering positive relationships and encouraging social skills development among students.

  1. A minimum of experience working with children and young adults, particularly those with additional needs.
  2. A compassionate approach towards children with SEMH needs, ASD, or Challenging Behaviour.
  3. Flexibility to adapt to changing school requirements.

The salary for this position is estimated at £24,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
