About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team in Shrewsbury or Manchester, with potential opportunities in other locations across the UK.

This role is part of our Minerals and Resources team within the Energy group, working directly with clients in the quarrying and mining sector. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading data collection, management, and interpretation from various sources, including field investigations.
  2. Preparing comprehensive hydrogeological impact assessments to identify potential water environment impacts and mitigation measures.
  3. Designing and implementing water monitoring schemes to ensure compliance with planning permissions and regulatory requirements.
  4. Conducting hydrogeological risk assessments using specialized software to evaluate potential risks to the water environment from landfill operations or waste disposal on land.
  5. Collaborating with the Hydrology team on flood risk assessments and drainage strategies for our clients.

You will be responsible for providing technical support to project teams through field work, data analysis, and high-quality report writing related to minerals extraction, waste management, and land restoration services for regulators or private clients.

Your role will involve close collaboration with other teams, including the Hydrology team, Environmental Permitting team, and Water team, offering excellent career development opportunities.
