Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Pharmacy Technician to lead our pharmacy team in the South Ayrshire Locality.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Principal Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for managing and developing our team of pharmacy technicians and support workers, working closely with senior pharmacists to deliver high-quality pharmacotherapy services.

You will contribute to the work of our primary care pharmacy teams, providing pharmaceutical care to patients in GP practices and care homes, ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require strong leadership and management skills, with a good understanding of medicines management and recent developments in prescribing work in GP practices.

A flexible and adaptable approach is necessary, with evidence of project and team work being advantageous. Good communication, organisational, and IT skills are also essential.

Desirable Qualifications:

A Personal Development Award and a management qualification would be highly desirable.

Working Hours:

This is a part-time position, working 22.5 hours per week. In accordance with AfC Terms and Conditions, you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Driving licence/Car ownership is essential for this role.
