Opportunity for a Skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer at Leonardo

We are seeking a talented Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Mission Systems team at Leonardo and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions for Electronic Counter Measure (ECM) programmes. This role involves capturing firmware requirements, designing Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), producing technical documentation, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. If you have experience with FPGA technologies, verification techniques, and system-level requirements analysis, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage firmware requirements and specifications
  • Design, analyze, and optimize FPGAs for electronic systems
  • Create detailed technical documentation and test plans
  • Integrate firmware with hardware and software components
  • Support firmware designs through the development process, ensuring compliance with safety-related standards

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Xilinx, Microsemi, or Lattice FPGA design tools
  • Advanced verification skills using VHDL or System Verilog
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and derive detailed firmware needs
  • Knowledge of safety-related firmware standards and regulations
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to team success
