Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Firmware Development Specialist to join our Mission Systems team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions for ECM programmes. This role involves capturing firmware requirements, designing and analyzing FPGA, producing documentation, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage firmware requirements and ensure they align with system-level requirements
  • Design and analyze FPGA architectures to meet performance and reliability standards
  • Create comprehensive documentation and test plans to support firmware development
  • Integrate firmware with hardware and software components to ensure seamless operation
  • Support firmware designs through the development process, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Xilinx, Microsemi, or Lattice FPGA tools and methodologies
  • Advanced verification skills using VHDL or System Verilog, with a focus on ensuring firmware integrity
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and derive detailed firmware needs, ensuring alignment with system-level objectives
  • Knowledge of safety-related firmware standards and regulations, with a focus on ensuring compliance
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities, with experience mentoring junior team members
