Financial Operations Assistant

Watergate Bay Hotel is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Collate and account for end-of-day routines and transactions across the businesses, including revenue recognition
- Record and process all payments for the group of companies
- Analyze daily bank transactions and process these within the accounting systems
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
- Accurately process journals into Sage
- Manage Accounts Payable - invoice and payment processing; reconcile supplier statements to the purchase ledger
- Assist in maintaining accurate and reconciled aged creditors listings
- Assist in preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
- Identify and implement better ways of working within the Finance Team to improve effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy of outputs
- Assist with process documentation
- Other ad hoc tasks as may be assigned by the business from time to time
- Experience of working in Finance
- Experience of using accounting systems (Sage preferred, but not essential)
- Organized and structured to ensure things get done
- Able to work well with other team members and at times independently
- Upbeat and positive attitude
- Flexible and able to prioritize tasks to achieve overall Finance Team and Company goals
- Comfortable with working to deadlines with a positive 'can do' attitude
- Willing to suggest new ideas and always looking for ways to improve the way we do things
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user
