SEN Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a kind-hearted SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Hackney. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils who have a range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, cognition and learning difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, and sensory and/or physical needs.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs and experience supporting young people with SEN. Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting is desirable but not essential.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher and therapy teams to ensure each child progresses towards their goals. You will gain experience working with mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, physical disabilities, and sensory impairment, Autism, and complex medical needs.
