We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance on plant equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment functions optimally. Inspect buildings and facilities to identify any issues related to structural, electrical, plumbing, or other systems.
  2. Facility Management: Oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Manage building systems, including security, fire alarms, and emergency preparedness. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  3. Project Management: Plan and oversee facility improvement projects, including upgrades and expansions. Prepare project budgets, timelines, and progress reports. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  4. Energy Management: Monitor and manage the facility's energy consumption. Implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare reports on facility operations, maintenance schedules, and project progress.

Requirements:

An apprentice, time served, or graduate Engineer to at least HNC level in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards. Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus. Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize. Available to work flexible hours including being part of a call-out team on evenings and weekends as required.
