Job Summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is committed to saving and improving lives by providing a world-class service. As a Senior Service Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping our services to meet the needs of our donors, families, patients, and staff.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Service Designer to join our human-centred design practice and culture at NHS Blood and Transplant. You will work with our Clinical Services product centre to develop services that ensure blood, organ, and tissue donations are safe and provide the best match for recipient patients.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Design end-to-end journeys to help users achieve their goals, putting their needs at the heart of your work.
  2. Develop designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes.
  3. Lead the creation and iteration of design artefacts prototypes with key service users and stakeholders.
  4. Champion the use and value of human centred design tools and techniques throughout the organisation.
  5. Design, lead, and facilitate co-design workshops with wide range of stakeholders including end users.
Requirements
  • SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE OF ADVOCATING, APPLYING AND ADAPTING SERVICE DESIGN METHODOLOGIES FOR COMPLEX CHALLENGES AND CONTEXTS.
  • EXTENSIVE FURTHER EXPERIENCE GAINED THROUGH 'ON THE JOB' TRAINING IN USER-CENTRED-DESIGN DISCIPLINES.
  • STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF HOW DIGITAL ECONOMY IS CHANGING USER BEHAVIOUR AND PUBLIC SECTOR LANDSCAPE.
  • MASTER'S DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT RELEVANT EXPERIENCE.
