Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team in Immingham. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our heavy machinery is properly maintained and prepared for use.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities- To carry out pre-delivery inspections and local preparation of heavy machinery, including the fitting of buckets, vandal guards, q-fits, radios, reverse cameras, and any optional extras required.
- To ensure all machines are thoroughly checked as detailed on the Pre Delivery Inspection and extras sheet.
- To carry out all work in line with time guides, highlighting to the Supervisor where additional work may be required.
- To ensure software updates are installed as new versions are released.
- To complete Personal Digital Assistance inputs in real-time, providing comprehensive details of the work undertaken.
- To maintain a smart and professional appearance, wearing appropriate work wear and Personal Protective Equipment, and to ensure housekeeping in your work area is of a high standard.
- To report defects on company tooling (including laptops, specialist tooling, and lifting equipment), and to use it in line with current test periods and instructions/training.
- To be flexible and work overtime as and when necessary.
- To attend relevant product or systems training courses, staying away from home where required, to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete workshop duties.
- To lock and secure the SMT GB premises on exiting the building, in line with key holding responsibilities.
- To work in accordance with SMT GB standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental care.
- Desirable: Hold a full driving licence and good driving record.
- Be able to drive and handle heavy construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- IT Literacy - basic computer skills, including the ability to use email.
- A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics, or relevant experience in the preparation and repair of heavy construction plant, including hydraulics and electrics.
