Senior VAT Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing multinational merchandising business based in Manchester. As a VAT Accountant, you will be part of the in-house tax team, working closely with the Head of Tax to provide expert advice and support on VAT matters.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit VAT returns across European entities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Coordinate data input and manage master data to ensure seamless operations.
- Assist with corporation tax returns and prepare VAT returns and payments.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Take the lead on cash management, monitoring VAT payments and refunds.
- Reconcile VAT-related balance sheet accounts and provide timely resolutions.
To succeed in this role, you will need a good understanding of VAT, ideally gained from working in an in-house VAT role. You should be comfortable with IT systems such as Excel and able to recommend ways to improve systems. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to progress in their career within a global business.
What We OfferThis position offers a competitive salary up to £50,000, negotiable based on experience, and a bonus/benefits package. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a large in-house tax team, led by a senior Head of Tax who can offer excellent training and guidance. The role also offers hybrid working arrangements and early finishes on Fridays.
