About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Respiratory and Immunology Analytic team at GSK. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the discovery and development of new treatments for various diseases.

The successful candidate will have expertise in bioinformatics and analytics, with a strong background in biological sciences. They will be responsible for creating custom analytics solutions, developing intricate data dashboards, and implementing bioinformatic workflows to deliver RNA sequencing data.

This role offers a chance to work on cutting-edge technologies, such as single-cell analysis, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the department. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present scientific findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing custom analytics solutions to maximize impact in progressing new medicine opportunities
  • Creating intricate data dashboards for lab assay outputs to guide project direction and strategy
  • Implementing bioinformatic analytic workflows to deliver RNA sequencing data and differential gene expression analysis
  • Exploring and developing bespoke analytic solutions and innovative data wrangling approaches/pipelines
  • Fostering continuous learning in digital fluency throughout the department
  • Collaborating with business partners to influence the development of new tools and platforms

Requirements:

  • BSc or Masters in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Computational Biology, or closely related field
  • Proven ability to code in R or Python and its application in exploring and analysing complex biological datasets
  • Prior experience generating assay data in a biological laboratory setting and developing experimental methodology and system data outputs
  • Knowledge and application of statistical analysis methodology and bioinformatics tools
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
