About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetist Consultant to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality General Anaesthetic services and contributing to the development of our Anaesthetic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality Anaesthetic services to patients, including Emergency Anaesthetic and Obstetric services.
  • Supervise and mentor trainees, including Foundation Year and Specialty Trainees.
  • Contribute to the development of our Anaesthetic services, including the implementation of new procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in the General/Obstetric Consultant on-call rota.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Surgery and Critical Care, to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within 6 months of completion of training.
  • 6 months advanced obstetric training to RCoA standards or equivalent.
  • A wide experience and training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care to Consultant level.
  • Experience of teaching Foundation Year and Specialty Trainees to standards required by the RCoA.
  • Understanding of the research process and evidence-based medicine.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
  • Self-motivation and leadership skills.
