Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aurora Severnside, a bespoke school for 11-16 year olds with SEMH needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students to achieve their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a warm and supportive relationship with students to promote a sense of safety and well-being.
  • Promote independence and personal development in students, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences, supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Support the Class Teacher in the day-to-day running of the class, responding to the varying and changing needs of the school.
  • Promote students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
Requirements:
  • A GCSE (or equivalent qualification) pass in Maths and English is essential.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Commitment to the role, with a desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual.
  • Be positive and creative in meeting pupils' needs.
