Financial Management Specialist

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join their team in Ashford. This temporary position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to local government financial management.
About the Role- Coordinate budget setting for the Council's General Fund, including collection fund, parish precepts, government grants, and Housing Revenue Account.
- Assist with preparation of the General Fund Council tax schedules.
- Monitor and assist in setting Collection Fund and government grants budgets.
- Support Head of Financial Reporting in preparing for closedown of the Council's accounts, ensuring compliance with Accounts and Audit Regulations and relevant codes of practice.
This is a fixed-term contract lasting several months, and we offer flexible working days (3-5 days per week) as well as a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum.
Requirements- Substantial experience in local government finance, specifically in budget setting and account closing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
