Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metering Engineer to join our team. As a Metering Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of fiscal and allocation gas and oil metering facilities, while creating relationships between clients and SGS UK Limited to reduce the 'Total of Ownership' of these facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on hydrocarbon allocation and process modeling implementation.
  • Produce meter sizing calculations, design reviews and measurement uncertainty calculations for liquids and gas metering applications.
  • Liaise with third-party metering personnel on fiscal metering system matters relating to sites, including arranging audit visits and accompanying inspectors.
  • Liaise with client representatives onshore and offshore to identify problem areas and opportunities for improving metering systems operation or efficiency.
  • Review and update metering manuals and procedures, review measurement and allocation strategies.
  • Produce and maintain mis-measurement reports registers/progress trackers.
  • Prepare metering reviews and audits.
  • Manage the provision of and engagement of third-party contractors for contract execution.
  • Identify and action timely purchase, repair, calibration and recertification of field and test equipment.
  • Manage the utilization of SGS calibration and recertification activities for projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have experience within the oil and gas metering industry or have worked in an oil company. It would be beneficial to have a current Offshore Survival Certificate, current Offshore Medical Certificate, ISSOW course, and be competent in the use of KIMS, K-Trac, K-Log and FM2P. A recognized technical formal qualification such as ONC/HNC/Degree is also desirable.
