About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our General Theatre Anaesthetic team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing anaesthetic services for a range of surgical specialties, including General, Breast and Colorectal Surgery, Upper GI surgery, Orthopaedics and Trauma, ENT, Dental, Ophthalmic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Gynaecology and Maternity Services.
  • Participating in the general on-call rota, covering non-cardiac emergency surgery and supporting maternity services.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of our Acute Pain Service, Chronic Pain/Pain Management Clinic, and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing service.
  • Working collaboratively with our team to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of interview date.
  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • Primary medical qualification.
  • FRCA or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Advanced Life Support qualification.
  • Qualification in Paediatric Life Support.
  • Advanced training in Anaesthetic Sub-speciality.
