About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment - Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Professional to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and classroom support to students with complex needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans and monitor progress.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored support and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote student well-being and safeguarding.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with SEN students in a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and flexible attitude.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
