We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Laboratory Support Assistant in the Blood Sciences department at Forth Valley Royal Infirmary.

The successful candidate will provide a supporting role to the professional clinical laboratory service, carrying out routine laboratory and administrative tasks under the supervision of qualified laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and label specimens and distribute to the relevant department.
  • Carry out preparatory procedures on samples.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, including regular cleaning.
  • Input patient details into the lab computing system with high accuracy.
  • Manage stock orders and general stock keeping duties.
  • Handle enquiries from service users and members of the public.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess good keyboard skills, the ability to work accurately under pressure, and a flexible approach to work. Standard grade/national 4/5 English and a Science subject are required, as well as previous experience in a hospital laboratory.

Working patterns will be over 7 days at the needs of the service.
