Job Title: Metals Risk Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Metals Risk Analyst to join our team at Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd. As a key member of our risk management team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and reporting on market risk and exposures related to commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze data entry in our trading system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess and report on market risk control items on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, adhering to our Operating Policy.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly profit and loss (P&L) reports, meeting set deadlines.
  • Complete accounting memos and requirements for quarterly financials, working closely with our accounting department.
  • Provide expert guidance on market risk control items and P&L reports to internal control and external audit teams.
  • Ensure market price risk is captured and hedge actions are executed effectively.
  • Develop and maintain ad-hoc reports for management to support position reporting, structure, and strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of new systems and processes within our organization.
  • Provide backup support as a member of our Middle Office team.
Requirements:
  • Fluent English language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts, formulas, and modeling using Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with our team and external partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to new requirements.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of physical commodity business, particularly metals and minerals trading.
  • Understanding of derivative instruments and risk management terms.
  • Previous experience in risk management and knowledge of risk management software.
  • Experience working with SAP and other business systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high level of autonomy.
