Chief of Staff Job Description

Global University Systems (GUS) is a dynamic and inclusive education organization that aims to become one of the world's most diverse and accessible institutions. We are seeking a highly experienced Chief of Staff to join our leadership team and empower our CCO by leading strategic projects and ensuring their successful completion.

The Chief of Staff will play a critical role in supporting the CCO by leading key strategic projects and acting as an internal driver to bring these projects to fruition. This role requires a confident professional who can connect all necessary stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and integration of efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead on key strategic projects for the CCO, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Project Management: Drive the completion of major projects by connecting all necessary stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the CCO, senior leadership, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Empowerment: Identify and empower senior leaders within the organization to support the CCO and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Integration: Oversee the integration of two major projects, ensuring they are brought together effectively and efficiently.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the course of projects, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining momentum.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization regarding project status, changes, and outcomes.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the CCO and senior leadership on project progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in a strategic role, with a proven track record of leading and completing large-scale projects. A variety of backgrounds/industry are considered.
  • Skills: Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
