At GAP Group LTD, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Plant and Tool division, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient servicing and maintenance of our extensive fleet of heavy equipment.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to take on a leadership position and lead a team of engineers in maintaining our diverse range of heavy equipment, including diggers, dumpers, and small hand tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of engineers in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment;
  • Coordinating routine maintenance schedules and ensuring timely completion;
  • Identifying and addressing technical issues; and
  • Developing and implementing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A relevant mechanical qualification or time-served experience as a plant mechanic/fitter;
  • Sound knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical systems;
  • A valid driving license (although not essential); and
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
