Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Macmillan Breast Reconstruction Team as a specialist nurse.

This team delivers specialist information, support, and holistic nursing care to patients undergoing breast reconstruction.

The successful candidate will work at an advanced clinical level, drawing on a diverse range of knowledge in complex decision making to determine evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Key responsibilities include supervising the delivery of advanced clinical care, coordinating service review and evaluation, and advocating for a working environment that promotes continuous learning and development.

The Specialist Surgery Directorate is part of the Neuroscience, Orthopaedic, Trauma, and Specialist Surgery Division, comprising ENT, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and other specialties.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work at a specialist nurse level, delivering clinical care and drawing on a diverse range of knowledge in complex decision making.
  • Support the development of the team and service, continuously improving patient care at all levels.
  • Manage the implementation of national standards and frameworks at a service and trust-wide level.
  • Advocate for a working environment that promotes continuous learning and development, evidence-based practice, and succession planning.
