Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost management, contract negotiation, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing steel fabrication projects.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project costs to ensure alignment with budgetary goals and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and review contracts with clients and suppliers to secure favourable terms and manage risk.
  • Cost Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports, progress valuations, and final accounts for stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 year's experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the steel fabrication or construction industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost management software and MS Excel; familiarity with industry software is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of contracts, pricing mechanisms, and relevant regulations in steel and construction.
