Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Specialist Eating Disorder Service as a Deputy Ward Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking team, providing high-quality care to patients with complex eating disorders.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Ward Manager to provide clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the ward. They will be responsible for undertaking assessments, developing care plans, and delivering therapeutic group work programs. The post holder will also administer medication, ensure the safe management of patients, and provide clinical and managerial leadership to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments of individuals with complex eating disordered presentations
  • Develop and deliver therapeutic group work programs
  • Administer medication and ensure safe patient management
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the team
  • Work closely with the Ward Manager to provide day-to-day management of the ward
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have significant post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse in a mental health or specialist in-patient setting. They will also have experience of developing, delivering, and evaluating specialist programs of care and risk management plans. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and negotiation skills, are essential for this role.
