Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Specialist Eating Disorder Service as a Deputy Ward Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and forward-thinking team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Ward Manager to provide clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the ward. They will be responsible for undertaking assessments, developing care plans, and delivering therapeutic group work programs. The post holder will also administer medication, manage patient risks, and participate in audits to ensure high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments of individuals with complex eating disordered presentations
  • Develop and deliver therapeutic group work programs
  • Administer medication and manage patient risks
  • Participate in audits to ensure high standards of care
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership on the ward
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have significant post-qualification experience at Band 5 working in a mental health or specialist in-patient setting. They will also have experience of developing, delivering, and evaluating specialist programs of care and risk management plans. A strong understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act, is essential.
