About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our ecology team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver ecological projects, including surveys, assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with a large team of ecologists, landscape architects, arboriculturists, and environmental planners.
  • Conduct ecological consultancy work, including surveys, assessments, and project management.
  • Advise clients on biodiversity net gain, DEFRA statutory biodiversity metric, and associated reports and plans.
  • Develop and implement ecological strategies to minimize environmental impact.
Requirements
  • At least a degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong focus on conducting surveys, assessments, and project management.
  • Sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
