Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Coastal West Sussex Care Delivery Service. The successful candidate will be based in our Crisis Team in Chichester, West Sussex.



Main Responsibilities


As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other acute services in the local area, including liaison teams, in-patient wards, and community services. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own areas of special interest and participate in research, development, medical education, or special interests.



About the Role


This role offers a unique blend of clinical practice and personal development opportunities. You will have the chance to join our trust-wide consultant network and access peer support from colleagues in West Sussex.



Salary and Benefits


The annual salary for this position is estimated to be £110,000-£150,000, depending on experience. In addition to the basic salary, you will receive a recruitment and retention payment of £25,000, as well as a relocation allowance of up to £8,000. The RRP payment is paid in instalments over 4 years, with the first payment of £5,000 made on appointment, followed by payments of £5,000, £6,500, and £8,500 at 12, 30, and 48 months respectively.



Requirements and Qualifications


To be considered for this role, you must possess a MBBS degree, entry onto the specialist register currently or within 6 months, and AC status or achievable within 3 months. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent clinical skills using a biopsychosocial perspective and wider medical knowledge, are essential.



Desirable Skills


Experience in clinical research/service evaluation, evidence of experience in education, research, audit, and other relevant skills are desirable but not mandatory.
