About the Job

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Ophthalmic Trials Assistant to join our team at CV-Library in Mayfair, London.

Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge research trials and projects in ophthalmology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the organisation, initiation, and execution of multiple funded data collection and research projects in areas including intermediate and late age-related macular degeneration, wide-field OCT imaging, diabetic macular oedema, inherited retinal dystrophies, visual aids, and vitreous floaters and opacities.

The role will also involve assisting with the analysis of results from patients seen and treated in the clinic and writing up academic papers for publication.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring regulatory and professional standards of clinical trials are achieved and maintained at all times.
  • Adhering to strict clinical trial timelines.
  • Collecting data including diagnostic imaging where appropriate.
  • Maintaining clinical trial and patient records according to study protocol and ensuring trials are conducted by Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
  • Assisting in setting up new projects, attending annual scientific ophthalmic meetings, and producing required study reports and scientific publications.
  • Corresponding with study patients.
  • Preparing lectures and assisting in creating material for publication (scientific and promotional).
  • Supporting in developing, conducting, analysing, and interpreting functional measures of vision, including visual psychophysics research, in conjunction with the leading Professor and the study Sponsor.
  • Assisting with organising and executing clinical studies and adapting and developing testing modalities.
