About the Role

The Pharmaceutical Society NI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Chief Executive. As the leader of the organization, you will be responsible for promoting and regulating excellent professional standards throughout the profession.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering business change and improvement, with excellent influencing and negotiation skills. They will also have experience of representing an organization externally with various stakeholders and the capacity to influence at regional and national level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the effective leadership of the Pharmaceutical Society (NI) and be accountable for the promotion and regulation of excellent professional standards throughout the profession.
  • Deliver efficient and effective management of the Society to ensure and enhance public confidence in the Pharmaceutical Sector, and to support and develop the Pharmacist profession as key professionals within wider healthcare.
  • Provide formal assurance on the organization's systems of financial control and adherence to legislation, best practice, and good governance.
Essential Criteria
  • At least 3 years recent experience of operating at senior management level within a regulatory environment/membership services organization or an organization with a complex governance system.
  • Experience of representing an organization externally with various stakeholders and the capacity to influence at regional and national level.
  • Experience of the effective and efficient management of financial resources, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and delivery of value for money.
  • A successful track-record of delivering business change and improvement to enhance organizational performance.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly to a wide range of internal and external audiences.
  • Understanding of regulation and the capacity to lead within a regulatory operating environment.
Desirable Criteria
  • Understanding of, or experience in, the issues affecting the Pharmaceutical sector in Northern Ireland and awareness of emerging challenges.
  • Postgraduate qualification in management/leadership.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
